How to add Ringtones to your iPhone

Just download any of the Ringtones from the Ringtones threads
Unzip the zip archive to your desktop
Inside will be the Ringtone, it will be in the following format (Filename.m4r)
Just drag and drop the Filename.m4r file into your iTunes Ringtones library.
Now just sync your phone with iTunes and the Ringtone will appear in your Settings > Sounds > Ringtone section.

First I would like to start by saying THANK YOU!
You and this site have helped me with several issues with my iPhone.

Second, as the title says I HATE ITUNES! I try not to use iTunes at all if possible.
Is there a way to add ringtones via ssh? And if so what location would they go?

You can add them to your phone but unfortunately they won't show up in your Ringtones menu on your phone because iTunes has to update a database file then it syncs your Ringtones. So by you manually adding them you are skipping the step of updating the database file.

easy want cr8 sms tone.. download "wave pade sound editor" u cant chose where star n end.... rmb that sound cant stop till end even u tap also.. that mean u should cr8 short ringtone only..

That's why I converted and imported my favorite Nokia ringtones over and mess around with the people having Nokia phones!

or you can drop the .m4r files in /var/stash/Ringtones using Disk Aid/ iPhone Browser etc...

I know there are some softwares which enable us to make our own ringtones for iPhone. Like iPhone ringtone maker... But it costs a lot. So i'm here to download. haha.
