Dunno if it's relevant or not, just felt I should share my experience.
I had purchased a 4S in march, FU here in UAE. Started giving me issues with audio. Sometimes on calls, sometimes on music. Loudspeaker, earpiece, and headset at various times. Usually fixed by a power cycle. Then later I had to do 2 restores to get the sound back on. And then one day every thing stopped completely with no audio. All functions worked well.
I took the phone to Etisalat and they replaced my handset with a new one within4 working days.
This new handset I received, worked well for a few days and then started giving problems. It would reboot while using Siri or camera or othe heavy applications. Sometimes it would go to the connect to iTunes screen and i would have to perform a restore. But it was working and I had no option but to use it cause when I took it too the Etisalat guys, I would work well. Then came the Absinthe
And I jailbroke it. Installed install0us and then my apps.
No issues whatsoever. The next day I installed dreamboardX from sinfuliphone and my phone went into reboot loop. The apple logo used to come up and then fade away. Even restore was not possible. I feared the worst. Went through many forums and found out that Absinthe had caused this problem to many iPhones.
I was stuck when I read that if we go to Apple, then can find out if the phone was jailbroken. By since my phone was not powering on, I took it to the service centre and the lady there tried to teach me to restore.
Warning me I would lose data.
She tried restore and it didn't work either. She said she'll send the phone to the back office and asked me to come back after 2 weeks giving me a tracking number to track the status of the phone. I used to track it every 2 hours.
Got a call yesterday to collect my handset. And I went the just to be handed over a brand new handset
They didn't find out about the jailbreak
Running iOS 6b1 now
