What I thought about iOS 6 for 24 hours.

Ok so this is not an in-depth review of the new OS, rather, its just what an average iPhone 4S user might notice on the new and "improved" iOS.

First up, thanks for the tip on how to upgrade without a developer account, this is why I love sinfuliphone, very much educational!

Alright, so the first thing that I liked were the UI changes, Music, Appstore, Status bar, Phone and so on, an eye refresher if you will. All this hype about maps does not apply to me since I'm not from the US and our place was NOT yet even on the map. Damn! But, 3D effect was good if you are from those places. I know Apple is still updating this and I expect it would cover almost all places like Google Maps did.

Not that much of a difference from iOS 5 all in all, but one thing that I liked was Facebook integration, yeah I'm an avid Facebook user. Also, I pretty much enjoyed using Siri, a lot of improvements were made and the sports tracker addition was awesome. Movie addons were great plus the Post and Tweet combo were also cool, not to forget the ability to open apps within Siri. Being able to set your own music in Alarm was also good.

There were some bugs that I encountered since this is a beta release, which includes, Facetime setting cannot be opened, iMessages addresses cannot be accessed as well, disappearing assistive touch and some lag on installation of apps through Appstore, this gave me a headache when I tried to install an app and it froze on me during installation. Boo!. It's also weird sometimes that the brightness of the phone cannot be controlled and it seems that auto-brightness has a bug in it. Auto lock also takes while to kick in sometimes even if I just set it to a minute.

A lot of changes in Settings, haven't tried Facetime over 3g yet. Oh, and the 3g button was also removed, again. Network was replaced to Cellular. New additions like Do not disturb and Privacy were also nice.

The UI was still fluid as ever and I can say this OS can be better in time, I mean, its still 4 months to the final release and a lot of things can still be added and omitted. So, in conclusion, I still liked the new iOS, it was good but not great. But hey we haven't still seen the official release yet so I'm just gonna enjoy the new stuff for now.

Its funny but i assumed IOS6 was going to be a huge update, and apple have gone straight from 5.1.1 to 6.0

Assmuming 5.1.1 is the last one of course lol but i cant see them adding anything to 5 now surely? or it would be more like 6.0 lol

Im a little disapointed in apple to be honest, the little tweaks and changes to various apps are like changing the headlights on a 10 year old car....

Not good enough.

Sure its a beta but its time for change, IOS has barely changed since the 1st iphone, yeah things like notifications, folders etc but the core is still the same.

My BIG WORRY is why by an iphone 5? of course it will be faster than my I4 but so what? angry birds doesnt need a quad core monster and my ps3 is for complex 3d games thanks.

Improved screen? mine is amazing, im happy how it is.

More storage? so what, just give us memory cards!

thinner? nothing wrong with this one, i can hold it, i dont want to have a credit card in my hand, i want something i can feel.

faster? mine is shit hot, the internet depends on my 3G signal, not the cpu, im opening a web page not rendering a HD 1080p blue ray movie lol

I think im going retro, iphone4 for life! Jailbroken for life!

Haven't heard much positive feedback regarding this io6! Apple seem to be losing there touch since steve left! In my opinion I think they have concentrated to much on the 4s's n newer phones...they seem to forget some of us still have iPhone 4 or 3G etc, doesn't seem to much use to us!

There are already many discussions about this.

One true fact is that they want to get rid off the "Jailbreakable for life" device generations.

And of course money.

And all folks are buying .

Well ...

I actually reverted back to iOS 5, since I wasn't able to use all of it's features, it needs a lot of improvement and they have 4 more months to do it, I hope they do improve on it. Plus this upgrade won't suffice until a jailbreak comes.

They can't do that. They would be seen as incuriging piracy
But I agree surely sales would go through the roof
But so would customer service
Could you imagine the phone calls
" I installed xxxx from cydia now my iPhone is fucked. iPhone's are fucked"
Customer service would be over run
Or this one
"I downloaded angry birds from installous now iTunes won't let me update it , its asking me to pay for it There must be something wrong with my iPhone "

I do not know whether its Apple's policy or not they should be supporting Siri on iPad 2 at least and also on the iPhone 4. I wonder how does iOS 6 perform on the 3gs and 4.

The only features I really like from iOS 6 is:
Siri on my iPad 3
3D map
The new phone feature
Remodeled stores
FaceTime over 3G & Mail

I know it's not much but whatever, I'm sticking with my iPhones 4 life!
Without these iPhones, Sinful wouldn've existed...!

No. I quite like it, gonna stay on it for a while

The only think that's annoying me is that I can't access the CallerID for iMessage in settings, it keeps crashing. So people are having a treat and seeing my phone number instead

And i see really not a single reason for updating to ios 6.

Only reason i updated to ios 5 was imessage ,the rest is the same shit as in any 4.XX firmware.

And why people prefer a buggy beta firmware will also gonna be forever a mystery to me.

Well use what you want or prefer and have fun thats the most important thing and you can switch back if you want a change again.

I just love trying new things, beta or not beta.

I was on just about all of iOS 5 betas probably do the same with iOS 6 unless I find a major bug that I hate.

Chances are I will flip back and forth when I start missing jailbreak tweaks though, the ones that don't work on iOS 6 that is
