Icon4 [HELP] Restore 5.1.1 on iPhone 4S

Hi,
I have been trying to restore my iPhone 4S running on 5.1.1 Jailbroken back to 5.1.1 before sending it for servicing. I have tried most methods such as Tiny umbrella using my blobs but still couldn't do it. Anyone has successfully restored?

Also, if I restore using iTunes, will it update my firmware to 6.0?

Appreciate any ideas.

edit: new redsn0w is out!!!

Thanks. I know about redsn0w re-restore. But just thought there might be something I can try in the meantime. And my warranty is expiring in a month time so I was thinking whether iTunes restore can at least get rid of jailbreak for me...

Like many others don't care about a jb for ios 6
All we want is to downgrade back to 5.1.1
With the new lockdown in ios6 many will stay away from it.

C/mon dev team the exploits are there just give us a downgrade please

why don't you just get a copy of the 5.1.1 restore and in iTunes do a manual update using the Ctrl+shift method. (similar to the way everyone was using the betas w/o registering.)

I believe Apple is not signing 5.1.1 firmware anymore since it is supporting ios6. When you attempt to restore via Shift+Ctrl, you will get "error 3194" and other sorts of error.

I am not sure about other iDevices but definitely not working for iPhone 4S (A5 device).

Apple isn't signing it anymore. But that's why I thought we saved SHSH blobs. Yet, even with them saved for 5.1.1 you still can not downgrade from iOS6 to iOS5 for some reason, one that I've not figured out or read about yet. Once Apple stopped signing 5.1.1, and you were on 6, you became stuck until (supposedly) the newest RedSn0w comes out.

I'm curious as to why you can't or there isn't, a way to just completely format the iPhone's system partition and start new, completely removing iOS6 and whatever little bug is planted in there to keep you on 6? I'm definitely a noob, don't know much about the workings of this whole thing but it just seems like it could be done that way. One things for sure, I learned a lesson not to buy an iPhone updated to iOS6... I just wish I'd read it a little sooner before I plunked down the cash for this one. Thankfully I still have my 4 and I was smart enough to drop back before they stopped signing...

Should't you be able to downgrade to 5.0.1?

No. I've got an iPhone 4 that I've got blobs for, that phone supposedly I can downgrade but I was smart enough to do it before they stopped signing.

On the 4S I bought, the person who had it only had 5.1.1 blobs saved but something about it being A5 processor and Apple not signing 5.1.1 any longer, you're stuck on 6 until that redsnow comes out.

If you were talking to me that is....

Well according to this HERE they're saying it's possible with SHSH saved but undoubtably they've not tried it yet.

I can but I can't, believe that Apple won't sign 5.1.1 for all the people who updated to 6 and aren't happy with it. Which leads me to believe there is an underlying reason why they want us to stay on 6.

---------- EDIT ----------

I got into a topic on Apple's forum... some dude says the reason that we can't downgrade back to 5.1.1 is because of the version of iTunes we're using.

He claims if you use an older version of iTunes, that it's easy to revert back to 5.1.1 if you've got the blobs saved... now who knows anything about that or is this guy talking out his ass?

From what I've read so far, the chance of downgrading an iPhone 4S running iOS 6 seemed very low (even with the new redsn0w).

Read the edit in my above post...

I'm going to try it... I have nothing to lose but some time. Personally, I think it's BS but it's worth trying if nobody else has tried it yet.

Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 will be tethered Jailbreak and it will be working fine for the iPhone 4, iPad 2 and other A4 iDevices.
For A5 device only downgrade and restore features will be included and further Redsn0w 0.9.15b2 will cover the Tethered Jailbreak for A5 device.
If you can restore back to 5.1.1 then wouldn't the current untethered jailbreak work? Isn't there a current untethered jailbreak for A5 devices (iPhone 4S) now?

Quoting myself, damn. Anyway... I tried that and I didn't make any headway with it... maybe wrong version of iTunes or something, 10.6.3 or something like that. Kept getting error 11 and I just don't think that works either... but I did try.
