What's the default iOS that comes with a new 4S?

If it comes with iOS 6, she'll have to wait until the JB is released.
She's better off with untethered 5.1.1 I'd say.

I can confirm I just bought a new iPhone 4 not 4s and it came with iOS 6 installed.

It should come with iOS6 unless shes super lucky and gets one with ios5 in it. Stay with the untethered 5.1.1 until the jb for iOS6 comes out.

jailbroke it straight away.

Some stores selling iPhones will still have fw 5.1.1. but there is no way of knowing until you turn it on.

depends on how long its been sitting really....if you go to a place that just got a shipment in then chances are they are all on ios 6....

i just got 2 new 4s iphones- the white one, which i have, came with the 6, the black one came with the 5.1.1 - when i got the phones the lady said i was lucky bc they just got a new shipment in - so the chances of getting one without the 6 is really based on luck
