iPhone 5 not delivering text messages

Hello,
I just bought a factory unlocked iPhone 5 but it doesn't send text messages. I can make/receive calls and even receive text messages but when I try to send a text message it immediately says Not Delivered. I tried Resetting Network Settings. I tried Resetting All Settings. I tried Erasing All Content and Settings. I even restored the firmware. I have iOS 6.0.1. If you have any suggestions or any ideas on why this is happening, I would appreciate it if you tell me.

Thanks!

What carrier are you using it for? Is it a normal text message or an mms? Also have you tried sending a messag with imessage and if so doesthat go through? It could be a carrier issue

Thanks for the reply Infdarknite
It is a normal text message (SMS). I have no problem sending an iMessage. I tried a couple of different carriers, the problem persists.

Restore to 6.0.1 and set up as new user. I don't think SMS is controlled by any hardware so with a clean restore it should work. If not I would return the phone or take it to Apple store.

Yeah i'd do a full restore with your sim card inside and if any carrier update pops up make sure to let it update

Hello, actually I tried everything that you said but it didn't work. As it turns out it was a software glitch in iPhone 5s with the model number: A1429 that apple had fixed in iOS 6.1 beta 2 which is for developers only. But I could get my hands on it after googling for half an hour. Now my problem is fixed. Here is how it is done.

Download the latest version of iTunes here
Restore your iPhone to iOS 6.0.1 using iTunes.
Download iOS 6.1 beta 2 for iPhone 5 CDMA
Press shift (option key on mac) + update and choose the ipsw for iOS 6.1 beta 2
Done, the problem is solved

Glad you have it fixed, but this look like an isolate case.....

Friend of mine has CDMA phone and still has the 6.0 firmware, not encounter any issue with text/SMS/IMessage

I am quite agree. Issue with sending SMS may be solved by installing iOS 6.1 beta... now it is beta 4

I had this problem 2 months ago when switching to ip5, sometimes apple shuts down imessages and I called att and they contacted apple to confirm it. Now its no big deal im sure if you can send them once you will be able to send them again.

oh at the time my imessages were down others and my friends could not send them too

yeah i notice when i slide to unlock and go to text messages, the button is green and there is no LTE or 4G logo up top, cellular data isn't working, if i open a browser it says no internet connection detected, then after a few seconds LTE or 4G finally shows up and everything works fine and i get a mass of text messages. very annoying
