Apple to Launch iPhone 6 With Larger Display in June, 2014?

I don't understand why they see this as a good thing... it's one thing to think that your device will be out-dated in 12 months... it another thing to KNOW it

Apple to Launch iPhone 6 With Larger Display in June, 2014?

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch an iPhone 6 with a larger display in June of 2014, according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek.

The Financial Post relays an investor note from Misek who says the wait for a larger display is due to the time required to transition the device's display technology.

Mr. Misek also noted that the supply chain is primed for an iPhone 5S and pivoting to the iPhone 6 will take at least two or three quarters. So if consumers assume an iPhone 6 is coming out next summer, why would they want to buy an iPhone 5S? Mr. Misek believes new colours, a faster processor and a better camera will be the major improvements Apple offers.

Additionally, Misek believes that Apple will launch a mobile payment platform using third-party clearing and Passbook. Fingerprint authentication is said to be part of the process as well as barcode reading.

Apple is expected to reveal some of its future plans at WWDC 2013.

And the winner of the 2013 No Shit Sherlock Award goes too.....

Well yeah lol Id put money on every phone ever being released in the future to have a faster cpu and a better camera, but if car companies released last years model but with 10 extra BHP and better resolution speedometer they would quickly go out of business....

Actually, this is exactly what they do for the mid-year cycle refresh.
In some cases, the "new" model uses the chassis and drive train from the old model, but subs in a new engine, body style, and interior.

I agree, this could be the motive behind Apple's move.

Nothing is new in this at all, everybody already knows this. If anything holds true, the real information always comes out of Asia. I'm sitting pretty right now with a jailbroken i5 so I'll wait for the bigger iphone next year in time for my next upgrade. Apart from the cheaper iphone this year, the 5s, and new about ipads and MACs, the real news is going to be Apple OSX, software, and what the new IOS will feature and what it will look like, not to mention a jailbreak after the release of IOS.

The motive is money!! Apple only has to do a little bump in features, and they will sell like crazy. There are still a ton of people that have a 3GS and want to up grade or a 4 with the same reason, because they have been waiting for the next best thing. And then you got the ton of people that want to be able to say look at me I got the newest apple product!! Yay

people need to give apple a good message by not buying products. If they dont provide good features and innovation. This is pathetic from them changing dimensions of the phone. They have done it for 3 yrs now and still made good amount of money.

I heard apples stock is dropping and the brand isnt doing as well when steve was alive. dunno if thats true or not but this phone will be outdated as soon as the first one is sold. If the iphone was a windows pc, it'll be on win 98(ios6) coming from 95 (ios5).

Behind on NFC
Got LTE LATE
Behind on OS looks
Behind on HDMI 9now phones are on mini)

Not bashing its a great device but its like apple is scared to uncap its potential! I think apple only continues to sell because of the media and the fact that it was the phone to change the game back in 2007-8.

I can upgrade right now if the 5S doesn't have something groundbreaking or a game changer I'm switching for android.

Bought a BB playbook the other day and for the price 1 of the best tablets out there.
Sticking with my 4 and 4s atm as the 5 doesn't interest me at all.
Due an upgrade this and next year and will wait for the impending disappointment
as usual.

Who cares? Apple is rapidly becoming irrelevant in the smartphone game. It seems with each phone they've released since the 4, they are starting out further and further behind their rivals.

When the 6 comes out, it will probably be at least a full year behind the tech curve at that point. Do any of you really think the 5S is going to beat the S4 in actual tech specs? I sure as hell don't

When my 4 dies or becomes so outdated as to be useless, it's Android all the way for me. To quote Jackie Brown "what happened to you, Apple? You used to be beautiful......"

Apple was on top for too long. Apple has chosen to milk the market for cash with cheap upgrades.

Samsung has a competitive edge. They provide majority of the components for their phone. Apple outsources to the lowest bidder. Sometimes even buying memory from samsung.

Apple will just milk the apple loyal until the bone is dry. They will go the path of Nokia and black berry in time. Even the tablet sector is slipping now. It's a shame really. It's all about greed.

Every iPhone has always been "behind". And does that hurt the sales of the iPhone when they release? I'll let you guys answer that.

Bottom line: Apple doesn't need to be ahead of the game, to be ahead of the game.

I could not wait till I got my iphone 5 and when I got it I was really a longer screen and other that that it was pretty much the same phone as my 4 and 4s I was very disappointed. I think they really need to step it up and give people what they want not what apple wants to give them.

My jailbroken Iphone 4 does 90% of what an Iphone 5 does.
I see no need to upgrade to a 5 and I doubt 5s will be compelling enough to make me want to do so.
