I'm running iOS 7 on my iPhone 4 & it works fine.

If you're not jailbroken or don't want to jailbreak it then give it a go.

There is a chance that it may slow down a little but that's only because usually the iOS is optimized for the most recent hardware specs

What's the harm, back up your phone and blobs, you then can create a custom ipsw, restore, restore your backup and go back if you don't like ios 7. Do it the smart way with an iPhone 4, you have no worries.

So you are blaming apple for your issues because you did the upgrade?

I ran the Betas on my iP4 and they ran fine (bugs aside of course). Like lod said, save your blobs and you can downgrade if you don't like it.
Ipad 2 - 7.0.6
Iphone 4 - 7.0.6
Iphone 5s - 7.0.6
Apple TV2 - 5.3
Apple TV3 - 6.0.2
Iphone 3GS - 6.1

The Thanks Button is the one at the bottom right

I've tried downgrading my iPhone 4 after the signing period was over and I've continuously gotten Error 11. I have my iOS6.1.3 blobs saved, but I can't downgrade. Anyone know what the issue might be?

Figured it out thanks to the updated blog post over at iH8Sn0w. I needed to downgrade iTunes. iTunes 11.1 prevents any custom firmware from installing.

Don't upgrade to ios 7 from the iPhone 4. It's the biggest mistake you can possibly make. Your phone will feel like a iphone 3g. Slow, slow slow.

If you are not a jailbroken user, then give it a try. After upgrage you'll fine that your iphone will slow down alot, but don't worry, you can make it run smoother by choosing 2 options in settings -> general -> accessibility ->: enable the Increase Contrast and Reduce Motion. It works perfect for me.

So far so good, from iOS 5.0.1 to 7.0.4 - currently on stock iOS, battery looks fine, turned off the animations and I'm satified... Currently I'm monitoring the battery drain - and so far from my first 6 hours of experience - they look normal.

I will wait till tweaks update on cydia for iOS 7, then I will proceed jailbreaking it. I miss my activator as well as biteSMS

I have updated from 5.0.1 to 7.0.4 and jailbroken. There's no lag or any other problem. Just make sure that you don't install too many tweaks or your iPhone may slow down.

Error 11 is due to iTunes >= 11.1.x, downgrade iTunes to <= 11.0.x and you should be right

iTunes - The iPhone Wiki

Edit: Sorry, didn't notice it was already resolved. Oh well, the link might help some people
