Sim not supported

I found an iPhone in the parking lot at work today...

when i picked it up, the screen had a some scratches, and what looks to be a very small crack in the glass. The body of the phone(on the corners) were pretty scuffed up. I hit the home button to see if it would work and it came on but it said iphone disabled.

so... read around and put it in DFU(i think thats right) mode and restored it.

When I went to sync with itunes, it says that the SIM is not valid. So, i decided to take the sim out. when i did, i noticed it was a Tmobile sim card. so i put my ATT sim card in it and i still get the same The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported error.

i dont know what else to do.

maybe its been blocked? try restoring and jailbreak with blackra1n, then unlock with a different sim in.

Or u cud have always tried to find out who's it was and returned it to them instead of restoring it

I have no idea who it belonged to. When I first plugged it into itunes there was just a bunch of letters as the name. I posted an add on craigslist and at work the day i found it and no one has claimed it.

Cyph My sim card is from the the same model. a 16gb White iPhone 3g.
