Using Tetherme and all I can say is wow!

I recently have jailbroke my iphone 4 this past weekend and I am loving it.... anyway I added tetherme onto my iphone and tried it out.... Me and my wife took a drive far from home and I hooked up my laptop via usb to my iphone and enabled hotspot effortlessly and flawlessly... I then did a speed test on speedtest.net and I scored 2.1mbps dl and 1.2 mbps ul with a 96ping..... that is insane.....

Be careful, as AT&T will automatically add a tethering plan if they catch you.

This is not true. They will continuously profile those with grandfathered unlimited plans. ATT employes DPI (deep packet inspection) as well as bandwidth monitoring and device checking. I was using PDANET with level 2 and still got profiled. I played dumb with them and avoided the plan upgrade. However, they are now throttling unlimited users who use more 2 gig in one month (varies with regional use). YMMV

This is exactly why I tether instead of hotspot. Tethering directly is quicker and because its plugged into laptop it is continuously charging.
