Icon9 Is there really any point in all these small fw updates? (5.0.X...)

i just think even with older firmwares, there is barely a difference unless from 4.x -> 5.x like what will the updates be for 5.0.2? just some bug fixes or something that wont even effect me using my iPod apart from screwing me over waiting for a new jb. i just find it a little pointless :/
Im just too awesome to make a good signature

most of the time. that is exactly what it is. they patch the hole used for the jailbreak. and they label this as a security patch. often tho, they will clean up native app code. to help the phone function better. and you are right, you only see real changes when you are mov ing to a completely new firmware, like 4 to 5. then all the firmware updates after that are cleaning up the code and what have not from what they have released. hope this makes sense

Like above said, the small updates are nothing more than just closing the exploits that were used for jailbreaks. You may see some new features/functionality...but very rarely.

For you no.
For Apple it is because it closes Jailbreak exploits.
