Sports Devil XBMC plugin - Live Sports on aTV (Update 07-15-2012)

SportsDevil is a video addon for live sports and highlights, blogs and TV. SportsDevil scrapes and resolves embedded streams from websites so that they can be played with xbmc. It dynamically parses cfg files that contain regular expressions used for scraping.

Requirements:
External players needed for:
Sopcast: (How to use SopCast as external player)
StreamTorrent: (Howto use StreamTorrent as external player)

Other addons needed for:
Veetle: (needs Veetle addon)
YouTube: (needs YouTube addon)
Freedocast: (needs Freedocast add-on)

Troubleshooting:
To fix firstrowsports.eu:

Download firstrowsports.eu.categories.txt, firstrowsports.eu.cfg, firstrowsports.eu.links.cfg

For Apple TV ssh to: /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.SportsDevil/resources/modules/livesports/
For Mac OS X: /Users/<your_user_name>/Library/Application Support/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.SportsDevil/resources/modules/livesports/
For Windows XP: Documents and Settings\%userprofile%\Application Data\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.SportsDevil\resources\modules\livesports\
For Vista/Windows 7: Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.SportsDevil\re sources\modules\livesports\
For Linux: $HOME/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.SportsDevil/resources/modules/livesports/


Installation:
1. SSH the downloaded zip file to /var/mobile/
2. Open XBMC
2. Go to System > Settings > Add-ons > “Install From ZIP” select the repo zip. Once that’s done, make sure restart XBMC.
4. Navigate to System > Settings > Add-ons > “Get Add-ons” > Video Add-Ons > “MaxMustermann's Repository” > Video Add-Ons > SportsDevil to install the plugin.

Once it is enabled it can be found in Video Add-ons.

Or Manually Install:

Installing from download installs the plugin.

Installing the Repo will give you the repo that the plugin comes from. From there you can install the plugin. Then future updates will be automatically installed.

ok got it so is best to install the repo so you dont have to keep manually updating also can you get live PPV events with this repo or plugin.

A lot of the time YES. I am a big fan of the FirstRowSports.eu section for those.

Keep in mind this is a free method, it won't always be perfect. Links get taken down by "The Man" if that happens new links are usually up already or pretty quick so just try again.

From my experience, that is usually what happens when a link is down. Try a different link, if one is available, or try again in a little bit.

Ok been playing around with the other links and some work some dont....hmm btw watching Porto v Man City is better on here App Store - Watch TV Free Live with TVCatchup

HD Quality...but only available to uk.

I don't have it on ATV2 but on ipad2, tried to watch NBA nicks last night(only LSHunter.tv and
SoccerHD.info,others were no streaming), but crashed and caused ipad2 hard reboot, try serveral times,still no luck.... any suggestion? thanks!

SportsDevil works without sopcast. if you want to use sopcast there are other things you need. It is far too difficult to try to explain, hence why I put a link to everything you need to know if the original post.

I downloaded the repo link above that u posted... I keep getting "no stream available" what am I doing wrong? I've been trying to stream nba games for days now but keep getting the same message

'No streams available' means one of the following:

There is no stream
The streams are not supported
The streams are supported but not recognized

If a stream is not recognized, this can have one or several reasons:

The regular expression is wrong
The html source code is encrypted (escape sequences like %xx and custom javascript)
The website embeds the stream from another site by means of (i)frames

Sports Devil is the most unreliable repo to watch sports.The project was abandon last year. what you guys are watching now is quick fixes by the community.trying to keep keep the repo alive. But 90% of the time your going to get a dead link or no stream available so please do not waste your time. I have been using the apple tv for a while now and I am sorry to say this repo Died last year.

If you want to watch any sports or anything on the apple tv learn to create your own Live streams by creating a xml files.

The most recent version update was Oct 21, 2011. While it may not be perfect, it is better than nothing.

I made a separate UK account just to download some UK apps that I needed.
