Any hope for Jailbreak 5.1

i finally got the unlock code from att but i realized that the restore process will lose my jb - it will go to 5.1 straight and can't be retrospected. So i end up either with a jbed but locked iPhone or an unlocked but no jb iPhone. sigh...

A5 and newer devices wise:
I doubt it will be avail at all (for this IOS revision)...

Generally taking into account what DEVS we have avail atm + having in mind that with every next IOS revision (3,4,5 etc) Jailbreak release is taking loonger and looonger+ having in mind that we don't even have bootrom exploit for A5(and newer) devices + we do not even have working way to use our saved SHSH to be able to downgrade (A5 and newer on stock IOS5)...

Remember reason we all saw so many diffrent JBs during 3&4 revisions been quite simple: Talentless Dev team been just leaching on Geohot's A4 LIMERAIN bootrom exploit all the time....

Now everysingle time you will see A5(or newer) devices JB that will be totally new thing basing on a diffrent exploites which will be immidiately patched in a next IOS upgrade.

I was running an iPad 2 on 4.3.3 jailbroken until very recently and I screwed up the iOS (every app crashes) and need to reinstall. I laid the iPad aside weeks ago thinking jailbreak 5.1 would be out soon (as I missed 5.0.1). I have the option to put 4.3.3 on again through SHSH and re-jailbreak, but wondering if I should go ahead and do that, or if iOS 5.1 jailbreak will be soon. If iOS 5.1 jailbreak is still more than a month away, maybe I should go with 4.3.3 again? What is realistic - do people here think the 5.1 jailbreak will realistically be in the next month, longer, or possible not at all?

What is going on with that ***hole iOnic and his tweet that he has a jailbreak "for I, but not for you" or something like that?

I'd go with 4.3.3 no question.

My guesses are -

60% chance of it being released in the next 4 months.

10% chance of it being released within the next month.

5% chance of it never being released.

TheRest% - some point after 4 months.

i been tethedred, well semi for about 2 weeks now i couldnt take it i had to upgrade to 5.1 with no choice< thats another story if you wanna here it later>>but not one time have i had to reboot,, now i just jinxed meself..any how if im in the wrong spot with this question im sorry im a noobie, but i have to get it out there i need help..what it is im trying out the siriport.ru and now i want to redo it as per a suggestion i saw and i cant for some reason un install or remove the guzzoni certificate, it says remove i click it the iphone seems to respring but not really cause it goes to homescreen and i go back to settings and its still there and i cant figure out why or how, its nowhere to be found on the internet??? SAo if someone knows i will be thankful..peace...im also wondering if i can delete it with ifile??hmmm

Yea, I had my 4S jailbroke when I was running 5.0.1 and did the upgrade to 5.1.
My battery has significantly improved and also everything runs a lot faster now since upgrading to 5.1.

I really miss the jailbreak I had but I knew eventually the 5.1 would have a jailbreak also.

So it was worth it to me to upgrade to 5.1...... now waiting for the 5.1 jailbreak and then I will feel complete again!

its been quite a long time since the last update. and i do agree that its taking longer and longer to get a jailbreak out. hope it comes out soon.

yeah i agree.. i think for the most part these people who constantly poise questions regarding the latest JB even when its not available are too dumb to do a quick google search or even a simple search here at sinful. i wouldve said that if they wanted to JB then they should try to figure out a way themselves instead of putting forth negative remarks, but ironically because they lack the motor skills to even do a search. . how can they ascertain becoming a hacker/developer?

i despise those people who are in it for a quick one time personal gain (profit in any form) rather then the group that are silently and patiently waiting because they are in it for the longevity. you know who will be back here at sinful long after a JB has been released.

Let me rephrase that: Just one smart young man capable of jailbreaking naive enough to release it for free when other equally talented people find exploits and sell them to corporations and intelligence agencies for a lot of money. Think 6 figure numbers. Our good friend i0n1c comes to mind, although he's one of the small fishes.

Or maybe not for free - he gets some donation money- but a lot less. And I'm not sure he's paid enough by Jay Freeman and his friends.

Why the hell didn't you upgrade to 5.0.1? This site TOLD you to upgrade before they stopped signing it. Why didn't you take their advice?

Go back to 4.3.3. It's your only surefire option for untethered jailbreak right now. Hopefully, they won't release any more untethered jailbreaks until 6.0 and they'll keep their exploits.

I was at a computer fair today in London, and the usual chinese hacker, who mods phones, playstations, changes imei's etc, I swear had a 4S 5.1 jailbroken,, it was 5.1 but had sbsettings installed!, but wanted £50 for the privilege.

If there is anyone in London, who speaks/reads Xiang/Hui+ who could meet and speak to this guy, and
1. Understand, if it is genuine
2. Get a phone flashed, and verify it.
3. extract and save the method for later.

I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount for such a service.

+I'm not sure of the dialect, my Hong Kong lady friend, thought it might be these, but only speaks Cantonese, and was blanked by him.
