Why can I NOT restore to 5.0.1 ??!!

So Im currently on 5.0.1 JB on my iPod Touch and Im trying to restore it back normal 5.0.1

Ive tried everything..I gotten every error message and looked it up on google on how to fix it...

right now its telling me that "This device isnt eligible for the requested build." so I looked on google and it says to delete some lines in hosts.. so I did that and still nothing.

Ive tried restoring with TinyUmbrella's SSH Server running and still nothing.

Ive tried entering Pwned DFU mode with redsn0w and still nothing.

I dont know what else to do.. someone PLEASSSE help me ANYONE

Create a custom ipsw using iFaith-v1.4.2 and restore in pwned DFU mode.....definitely work....

and older version gives errors...so use iFaith-v1.4.2 only

Yes, use iFaith latest to create custom firmware with you saved blobs and it will work.

Restored my ip4 back to 5.0.1 without no problems.

Oh and used iReb5 to enter DFU mode. Not one single error during restore.

You need to install SAMPrefs from Cydia

Yep i had to restore myself today used ifaith-1.4.2 and absolutely had no problems creating a custom ipsw... went flawlessly so yes do what xtremeuploader says

i'm currently on the 4.2.1 JB ipsw and want to preserve the BB. is iFeith will work for this iOS as well?
