If the exploits we're covered then the 5.1 jb can be released since there is no point in holding back anymore. Right?
Just means the 5.0 & 5.1 story will start again on 6.0

My phone isnt jailbroken, upgraded and 4s came with 5.1 so I have no blobs so no option to even downgrade, suffice to say am desperate for a jb but agree with the majority that the exploits should be saved

I Recommend Restoring Using a Custom Firmware if your iPad uses a SIM card

Sure you could if it's built for the generation of your iPad (duh, and it's a custom firmware; only necessary for iDevices that use cellular data, prevents modem firmware from updating)

Seems the door was closed when i tried with my ipad 2 wifi.

I prefer my Ipad2 on 5.01. way more features. I want a way to downgrade because that also means I can restore without updating.

hi guys
recently i did use a softwear(ibackupBot) to remove the autosaved email addresses and it worked but i cant sinc or back up with itunes as it says the iphone was disconected!

so i have ios 5.0.1 and just want to restore and reinstall the same ios

you usually have to delete you last backup in order to backup again...thats what i had to do last time i used ibackup. sometimes it will make a corrupt backup and you have to delete the file in library-itunes-mobile device or something, like that. just google it.

Forgive me if this is a daft question and yes I've searched and got more confused the more I read. But, does the latest version of TinyUmbrella capture both SHSH and APTickets?

Only asking as I'm saving for iPad 3 and iPhone 4S.

The SHSH blobs save both APTickets and the blobs
It now even saves BBTickets

They were just useless as there was no bootrom exploit

Thanks for the answers chaps. I would have asked in the other thread had I known of its existence, hadn't just finished work where I had to witness a dozen colleagues be made redundant and the thought hadn't just popped into my head and this seemed liked as good a place as any.

Oh well, back to reality....
