How do I sync my contacts on my computer without losing them on my jailbroken iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4 5.0.1 jailbroken with Copic installed and biteSMS. I want to sync my contacts with iTunes but I don't want to lose any of them. I have had an experience before where I used to sync with iTunes and I lost some contacts which I don't want to repeat the same mistake again. Can someone give me a step by step on how to sync without losing any contacts?

Why not just sync them with iCloud? Makes like much easier.

How do you sync with iCloud properly? Last time I did it, it replaced my current contacts with my old contacts so I lost like 60% of my contacts names
