Uninstall iTunes, reboot, install iTunes and try a different USB cable and port.

When ever i have restore/update issues, its alawyas tiny umbrella causing issues. I would go with this fix!
I normally uncheck every, and anything i can in tinyumbrella before a restore.

Hi, can someone please help me out with the 3194 error?
I've tried just about every fix known, but it still happens. I'm trying to restore my iPhone 4 with a custom IPSW created with Redsn0w (not to update the baseband) but I keep getting that damned 3194.
I've changed the hosts file entry to: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
I've put in in to recovery mode
I've also at different times put it in to DFU mode before restoring.
Is there something I've missed?
Thanks.

If you are going to restore your iPhone with CFW your phone should be in Pwned Mode not in DFU mode.
Error 3194 the solution for that is to cut or replace the host file.
Tested Host File: hosts.rar
After replacing the host file restart your computer.
