More reasons not to upgrade to 3.1.3

Besides the fact that Apple just sucks at firmware to begin with...

Just ran accross this:

Quote:
The iPhone 3.1.3 firmware has introduced problems for some people even as it has fixed them for others, say complaints on Apple's support forums. Most critical is an issue with battery life, which can suddenly become erratic. A phone's battery meter may potentially swing wildly, for instance going from 25 to 7 to 10 percent, then jumping back up to 24 percent.
Worst-case scenarios may see phones losing hours of power, and even running unusually hot. The v3.1.3 firmware was in part meant to correct battery meter trouble on the iPhone 3GS.

Another major problem involves iTunes playlists, which in some cases are failing to sync properly with the iPod touch. While files will copy over properly, playlists may be empty or simply absent. The glitch is believed to affect only smart playlists, and potentially only those with multiple criteria. Temporary workarounds may include reducing criteria to a single field, and/or deleting and remaking previous playlists.

hahahaha that's funny shit. Hate to be the one to say I told everyone so. Like I said before people just get all hyped up over new FW simply because it's new so people automatically assume that it must be uber cool or something

good post

its sooooooooo stupid that itunes has so many updates but dont do shit about itunes constant "determining gapless playback" even though i indicated that ALL tracks are not part of an album or gapless playback playlist. its does it nomatter what even if it finished going thru the determining process for 30 minutes yesterday. smartlist is stupid and i never use it either.

i dont agree, my buddy upgraded to 3.1.3 on accident and it didnt take any longer than 30 minutes to have 3.1.2 up and running again. just used the cydia server to verify the original firmware files.

personally im guilty for that, i think that its gonna be cool, but then i remember past experiences with upgrading and the term 'if it aint broke dont fix it' comes to mind.

I had JB to 3.1.3 but then decided to roll it back to 3.1.2 because alot of applications would not work with 3.1.3.. and downgrading was not that big an hassle as people have been saying around on internet. I just connected to the itunes and gave it the custom ipsw and boom!

Mmmm am I the only one who has no issues with 3.13 jailbroken 3gs? Even when on 3.12 I found it still not as 'reliable' as my 3g running 3.12 jailbroken. Mine 3gs all working fine with no battery issues, all my stuff transferred over from iTunes with no fuss.

The only issue I have with 3.1.3 is that I don't have mms anymore... It worked fine on 3.1.2. It's no big loss... I don't really use it

Fuck 3.1.3, it brings nothing to the table. Stay on 3.1.2 and get a cydia package that'll spoof it to think it's on 3.1.3. Now itunes wont bother you about upgrading(it'll actually say your up to date) and the fags that make apps the require 3.1.3 will work fine and copy to itunes fine. What the fuck does 3.1.3 have that you need for an app anyways?
