How to SSH into an iPhone 3GS
*The only difference is that you change the File Protocol to SCP.
Here is a step-by-step guide:
1) You'll need a jailbroken iPhone 3GS.
2) After a successful jailbreak, search OpenSSH in Cydia and Install it.
3) Then you'll need a SSH client software for your PC. For Windows use WinSCP and for Mac use Cyberduck.
4) In order to connect to iPhone, the Host Name is the IP address of the device (which you can find under WiFi Settings by pressing the little blue arrow next to the WiFi Network Name you are connected to). The port is 22, username is root and password is alpine. In Private key file field you don't have to type anything.
5) For iPhone 3GS change the File Protocol to SCP. Probably by default SFTP is selected. You have to just press the arrow and select SCP.
6) Press login.
Useful Information:
- The first time you login you will need 30 seconds to connect.
- iPhone must be on (not locked) so I suppose you plug it in to PC to charge, because wifi connection must not be interrupted.
- iPhone and your PC must be connected in the same Wifi network!

Ah alright, how would I go on installing .ipas with SSH? Everything I've seen on youtube is about installing through instalous but I see so many people with .ipas in rapidshare. I did what you said and it did go through, thanks! But I only see two folders, library and media.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I was in the wrong folder.

I have no idea, I don't use Installous. I let iTunes handle all my IPA files. I use terminal for all my deb files.

Yeah well you're smart I have no idea what terminal is.
Apparently installous keeps a folder for downloads so once you open it the installation begins.

But won't itunes recognize it as a cracked file? And won't itunes charge me because they'll think I bought it from itunes? And how do I put it into itunes?

LOL no iTunes isn't gonna know if they are cracked or not.
To add IPA's to iTunes, just double click on the IPA file that you want to add and iTunes will automatically add it to your Applications folder.

This guy sounds new like I was when I got here, so let me make sure you understand brother. If you're on a jailbroken iPhone you can download a program called "appsync" from the repo. You will never see an icon for it, it will simply allow you to sync cracked apps. Go to appulo.us or google it and you will find a site dedicated to cracked apps. Once you download the .ipa double click it and it pops into your itunes library at that point just sync your ipod and you get what you want. I'm rocking a ton of great cracked apps including the new TomTom (thank you crackers of the world and sinfuliphone for giving me a place to learn)

And I don't have to log out of my itunes app account right?
I'm clicking on "transfer purchases from" and nothing happens =/
Although it did sync, I'm gonna try and add an app and sync it directly through itunes.
EDIT:
I just successfully synced perfect browser from itunes! yay!

Yeah I wouldn't bother using that transfer purchases feature. Just download the apps onto your computer and then install them via iTunes.
