Icon4 Cydia Deb's [Read Only] Why?

Hi All,

Wonder if you can help me guys, got someones iTouch that I am doing for them, and strangly..... get READ ONLY kind of access when handling Cydia Deb files....

Yet, AppStore Ipa's, seem fine...??? Odd no...??

Any idea's why its doing that, and how I can fix it...?? Is there a known reason why it could behavour like its READONLY for Debs...??

I use AppCake, to install Debs, and then try to delete them after installing. Yet nothing gets installed, norr does it get deleted either....

I have fun SBSettings and fixed permissions on folders, but to no avail.

Thanks,

Lister

hmm....its not like an "ftp" client that you have 2 give it permission (777)...all i do is put the "deb" file in the "tmp " folder and use iFile to install

Hi Evil_Beaner,

I think you maybe right there fella.... I think it is something to do with permissions. And I know some folders/files need [755] added to them, to make them work... but I wasnt expecting the Download/Upload folder of AppCake to be messed up already, its only just been installed....

However, I shall try re-installing over the top of it, and see if that cures it.....

And yes, tried it your way too, although I put mine in a different folder, but yeah same concept with iFile, and iFile works fine install Debs on this one, so it sounds like its AppCakes fault.....

Thanks for replying back so promptly...
