I did it already for testing purposes via redsnow 0.94 and choosed already pwned and it was
succesfully done.
BUT
i use a Sinfuliphone customfirmware and i never needed / done a Spirit jailbreak so i cant say if that will work for spirit jailbreak's.
But i can say the only way is to reflash the bootlogo @ least after knowledge .
Sadly it cant be done via a manually file exchange / replace ...

No .
If it did ,i would have told u about the risks that i experienced while i did it ..
I wont you to fuck up your device and i told you that i dont have any spirit experience so i dunno
if it will work .
if u use redsnow u have several options like verbose booting= the whole bootup sequence is displayed on screen while booting up the phone .If u didnt knew now u know it
I choosed already pwned changed the boot and restorlogo and rednsnow did the rest .Only diffrence was i got my personal custom boot and restorlogo .. Everything else was like bfore ...

okay .. then, i hope to have someone who's using Spirit jailbreak with iPod 3g 3.1.3 OS to know if it is okay to do this because, i read that redsn0w isn't for iPod Touch 3G .. so i do not want to f*** up my device

tethered JB's dont support boot logos, redsnow 0.9.4 for ipt3g's is a tethered JB, so your SOL for now.

Well i dunno if itz right what ddub420 said .
Correct is what he said about the untethred part but since u have the option "already pwned" there will be no rejailbreak done instead only the Bootlogos are getting reflashed- the jailbreak part will not be executed after my experience .But u know what ? Try my way or be happy that u have untethered jailbreak after the long time and give a shit about the Bootscreen like i do ,i mean are u looking all the time on your phone while it boots up ??

I should of been more descriptive with my post, redsnow 0.9.4 was made with the tethered 3G itouch exploit in mind. Because of that there is no script for putting a boot logo on a 3G itouch in the redsnow 0.9.4 program. Because tethered exploits can't have custom boot logos. it won't work, you'll get an error.
4.0 fw is probably going to be your best bet for bootlogos, unless some dev comes up with a way to do it. Very unlikely at this stage in the 4.0fw game.
---------- EDIT ----------
Also, spirit is a different exploit than redsnow's.
They are not made to be compatible with one another.

can't this be done by replacing the apple logo in the firmware? I try changing the applelogo with an .img3 made in snowbreeze but it had no transparent pixels and made my apple a black screen while booting... if its made properly would it work through restore?
