iPad app backup before restore

Hi all,

I purchased my iPad in the US before they were available locally and setup a UC itunes account to access apps etc. I now want to move to my AU account so I'm going to restore the firmware. I've played with a heap of Cydia apps and the iPad is a little unstable now so it's time for a rebuiold anyway

I would like to backup a couple of my games so I installed OpenSSH and AppLink, SFTP into the iPad and sucked off the application. I was just wondering before I blow this iPad away, has anyone else ever done this and restored succesfully?

I know I could restore from itunes but I really want a vanilla install and only want to restore 2 apps.

Thanks guys.

You just trying to save the app settings/preferences etc? It will work manually saving them from the App folder but there are certain folders/files that you need to save depending on the app. This way when you restore the app via iTunes you can just restore only those files which are the settings/preferences files. Which apps are you talking about?

I'm just hoping to backup the saved games from Plants vs Zombies, my kids have invested HOURS in the game and they freaked out when I mentioned they would have to start again

Post me some links to those two games and I will install them and tell you what you need to save.
