 Itunes wont update iphone 3g to firmware 4 HELP PLEAS !!!

Icon4 Itunes wont update iphone 3g to firmware 4 HELP PLEAS !!!

I need Help ???????

I downloaded firmware 4 for my iphone 3g from itunes but it wont install on my iphone I only get this message “ The iphone “me’s iphone” cannot be restored at this time because the iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable. “

And when I used a other pc it started to install but got stuck 4 min later on the apple logo and a indicator bare underneath the apple and had to recover to 3.1.3.

Pleas help !!!?????!!!

Hey,

Did you ever update your DNS HOST File to point to a different server? That could be a cause.

try it on an other pc. its most likely you changed DNS host to point to an other location

Can you shift+click restore and point to the downloaded stock .ipsw file?

That happens to me sometimes all i do is uplug my phone and restart my computer after its restarted it seems to always work

I had to down downloaded a different OS4 from this site and it works fine and used redsn0w_win_0.9.5b5-4 to jailbreak it works fin now.

I only get that when im not connected to the internet. Make sure you have itunes 9.2 or you cant update it either.

I have this problem as well, I have an Iphone 3g I was trying to upgrade from firmware 3.0 to 4.2.1 using pwnagetool4.2 all went well untill i tried to restore with the custom firmware on itunes, and it gave the : no compatability error. help? anyone?

Are you sure you got the right firmware?

You Can Restore to FW 4.1 (still signed by Apple) and than use tinyumbrella to get it out recovery,
