iPhone 4 SHSH Blobs

Some people have reported they have saved their blobs with umbrella....

The Firmware Umbrella

I have been having problems to get it working...

apparently the only way it will work with the i4 is if the device is detected in app... as the request / challenge now uses 3 different numbers one is still the ICID.. so the advanced option will not work with the i4 as you can only input the ICID and the result will be NULL ...

my problem ... the app does not show the device.. but if i unplug it.. each time it reports:-

>> Connect a device to continue...
>> Connect a device to continue...
>> Connect a device to continue...

so it must know it is there...

I did read somewhere that you need to register the iPhone with Apple in iTunes...

I elected to 'Never Register' ...

If this is true then i need to restore and register to save my blobs.... can anyone confirm this ??

I have not either, but gotten a bit further

Started itunes
Started tinyumbrella
Plugged in iPhone
Disconnected & reconnected iPhone
Then chose advanced
Changed device to iPhone 4
Tried both cydia and local host
Clicked save
Mine stays in processing request, doesn't finish

This is True.. I registered my iPhone 4 and was able to save my blob with the earlier version actually.. Never had any troubles with it.. The only place that has your blob is Apple.. Cydia doesnt have it yet for obvious reasons and neither does localhost.. From Apple it takes 2 seconds..

so did you register your iPhones in iTunes to Apple ??

As i said before after 3x you plug in the device.. you can elect to never register...

I think this might cause the problems....

So i have restored my phone... and i don't get the registration page back

My device still don't appear in umbrella...

I think i am screwed for saving blobs

I guess the blobs for 4.0 will not matter.... with 4.0.1 release any time now....

there will never be any jailbreak or unlock

I think you need to get umbrella to recognize your device first.. Take care of that issue then try to get your iphone shsh blob from Apple.. I honestly dont think you need to register for you to get your blob as they know your phone is activated, once its activated you can retrieve your blob.. work on getting umbrella to recognize the device and I think you will be good..

Once we have the Jailbreak, hopefully Saurik updates cydia to start saving our blobs so then you will be able to retrieve from Cydia but you gotta get your device recognized first.. Its so damn easy to downgrade with Umbrella instead of trying to trick itunes..

I see you were using a PC.. from your screen shot.. I might give that a try...

I also note form your profile you use mac... did you try on mac os also ??

Yea I used to have both actually.. I 'used' to use Leo all the time but have since installed 7 over my Leo install.. I am in the process of updating my hackintosh h/w so I can install a new Snow Leo.. So to answer your question I have not tried it on a Mac.. Yet..

Could someone that has managed to get this to work for the iPhone 4 please post how they did it step by step? I have tried versions 4.00.06,4.00.22,4.00.23,4.00.26. .23 is the only one that does not recognize the iPhone 4. All other versions recognize it, however, they all just hang at "processing SHSH request". I have tried all 3 options in advanced options. Please help, I do not want to be stuck after the new update comes out.

First off, Download the latest version .26 from http://www.mediafire.com/umbrella Make sure you have the latest Java installed from http://www.java.com. Connect your iPhone 4 then open up Umbrella .26. Your phone should be recognized so hit advanced options, select the drop down arrow and select apple. It should only take a few seconds and it will tell you that you have cached the [1] shsh file.. Piece of cake..

I have used "TinyUmbrella - semaphore v4.00.06" which says and has uploaded my ECID device iPhone4 4.0 (8A293) Location Cydia without errors...

When I click on "Display SHSHs" button it shows "-iPhone4 4.0 (8A293)-000000000000 (zeroed out as it is my ECID)

Still a no go here, no matter what version I try, it still hangs on "proceesing SHSH request". Tried with itunes open, itunes closed, have updated java, still no go. Any advice? I restored my iPhone 4 in itunes last night and tried again but no luck. I am going to give up if I can't get this to work.

Im not sure why you are having problems. My blobs were backed up in a few seconds with no problems. i have the latest version of iTunes and tiny umbrella 4.0.0.06 follow the directions exactly and you should be fine...
