problem solved full factory restore whole process shouldnt take more than half an hour.
after restore re jb.

u have a 3gs, so u will need ur shsh for all firmwares lower that 4.0 before u can restore or else u just have to restore to 4.0 without the shsh u can restore to 3.1.3, or 3.1.2 or 3.1 and so on. So if u restore u will have to go to 4.0 and unfortunately there is no jailbreak for that yet

It’s the first time i had an iphone i was always a wm user im trying hard to learn everything about this phone
but i dont want to mess it up.
I screwed up the first time when it was on fw 3.1.2 jailbroken and done a factory reset ,then got stuck on 3.1.3 until spirit was out i dont want this to happen again. I tried to get my SHSH but keep on getting the same message
Could not get your ECID SHSH for the model/version: sorry
So im confused now can i restore without my SHSH from 3.1.3 to 3.1.3 safely and then jailbreak again or stay with my problems until 4.. improves?

You will not be able to restore to stock 3.1.2 / 3.1.3 firmware without the shsh backed up in Cydia. You'll have to stay where you are.

Assuming you have the 3.1.3 SHSH (like I do), how would you go upon doing a factory restore back to 3.1.3 so I could re-jailbreak using Spirit, like I did my first time? I'm currently on 3.1.3, but like the OP, I just wanna start fresh. I'm just curious, because I've been debating doing this for the past few days, I've installed a bunch of shit since I jailbroke and also uninstalled a bunch of shit, but I can tell not everything was completely uninstalled. I have the 3.1.3 SHSH saved on Cydia as well as a local backup on my PC.

Here you go - How to Create Your Own Local iTunes Restore Server using your ECID.SHSH - SiNfuL iPhone, read it word for word and remember to use Sinful's Restore Server Tool to assist.
