as i said i am running it on 2g and 3g remember if you need to preserve your baseband on the 3G don't update with it cause it will update the baseband to 05.11.07

sorry, but I just want to make sure. I have T-Mobile service and I have a iphone 2G running the 3.1 custom firmware that didnt update my baseline. So is this update still ok to use on mine?

It will not update the baseband on the 2g

Oh great!! thanks for clearing that part up. DO I also need to unlock it again after restoring it with this firmware using iTunes? I hope I am being clear. Just dont want to have phone that is locked that cant be used because of the firmware issue

yes just install ultrasnow after update no firmware will update the 2g baseband anymore as apple no longer supports the 2g iphone
