converting .zip files to .ipa
It is basic really.
Mind me i'm on windows 7 so i will showing how you do it on windows 7
open up any windows explorer
You should see a tool bar including file, edit, view, tools and help
If you can not see this, press ALT and you should be able to.
Then you click on tools > folder options > view
In the list you should see hide extensions for known file types un check that and click ok. Then go to your .zip file you want to convert to .ipa. right click on it and you should see a long list,
>> Click rename
>> Delete the .zip part
>> press enter and wo la you have a .ipa file.
Remember this tutorial is apps that are downloaded as .zip files.
Its got Nothing to do with iTunes as stated by Jimma6636
- Added by Da Haka, when you zip up a file that will eventually become an .ipa, make sure to choose the setting in your archiver that doesn't compress the file. For example, in Winrar it would be the "Store" option. IPA's are not compressed so you won't be able to use them if they are.

Credits go to the makers . Hit thanks if i have helped

What are you talking about??
Also, this is not a conversion, just a simple name/extention change.
I thought everyone already knew this simple step, obviously not.

I dont know if you read it wrongly Jima6636, I quoted 'cmeacham98' not you, I was actually agreeing with you asking the same thing. - What has iTunes got to do with changing a .zip to an .ipa?
Think you got the wrong end of the stick.
You seem a bit overly hostile there mate, bit unnecessary.

Sometimes programs are not cracked properly, thats what causes the problem, if you are getting this with every .ipa then uninstall itunes then install again, it usually helps if not report back to us.
And as the "guy" above said be specific about the error code or the details of it. So we know what the real problems is .

The app "xxxxx.ipa" could not be added to your iTunes library because it is not a valid app. This happens with all the zips that I convert but only if they were opened then recompressed

You are right on. This is also what I have experienced.
If you re compress the contents of a .IPA using windows to a zip and then rename to .IPA you will get an error in iTunes and it will not load the .IPA.
There appears to be some byte or something it is checking.
If you just rename the .ipa -> zip and then extract the contents, make changes and then reinsert those changes into the SAME .ZIP and then rename back to .IPA you get no errors.
