when i replaced the battery in my 3gs, had serious problems. when charging, it wouldn't go over 44%. simple way to solve it. use your phone until it shuts down. put it on the charger, and dont use it till its fully charged. when charged, use it again till it shuts down again. charge it again, and then your battery should be fine after that. did the same thing with my new iP 4, and have had no problems at all with quick battery drains. i can get 3 days on standby easy. right now my battery is at 74 %, standby 23 hours, usage 2 hours.
but, question - are you charging is using your 3gs dock, or through the computer?
