 What is the TSS Server for?

What is the TSS Server for?
i see it on tinyumbrella, but idk what it does? i clicked "start tss server" and then it just says "running" with the spinning thing and nothing is happening

it changes the host file from apples to a local one so u can restore using ur shsh blob

If you have your SHSH blobs saved, click Start TSS Server and iTunes will let you downgrade with out errors

I believe I can actually change things, and I work that way.

Can I disconnect my ipod while the tss server is running? It just went into "it Safe Mode".

The TSS server is used to restore to custom firmware; it has nothing to do with the actual iDevice. You can disconnect it, but connect it and leave the TSS server running if you plan to restore to custom firmware.
