SiNfulSS, I see you listed a file for the IPod 2G, how about the IPod (64gb) 3rd. Gen? Or is it because I can use the IPhone 3GS, version

My IPod is already Jaibroken with BlackRain RC3, will I still be able to use the : Firmware 3.1.2 Custom IPSW Files ?

Also, how can we determine the size of the Root File we need to download?
Will it also work with a Canadian Carrieir like Rogers, Bell Mobility, or Fido etc...?

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently there is no PWNAGE Tool CUSTOM IPSW support for the iPod Touch 3G hence the reason there is no CUSTOM IPSW for the IPT3G posted.

Yes you can use a CUSTOM IPSW to restore your device as long as you are already on 3.1.2 FW and are already Jailbroken.

I have the same question a couple others on here asked.I dont quite understand if these custom ISPWs work on the new bootrom 3gs, the kind we need to do a tethered jailbreak with?

You can still use a CUSTOM IPSW with the new bootrom but you will still need to use blackra1n to help jumpstart you everytime you reboot your phone.

Hi Sinfull. i have 3gs new boot room, how to by pass error 1604?? its preparing for restore for while then i got that error 1604.
tried with fresh 3.1.2, with 3.1.2 jailbreak with blackra1n first, so far no luck (same error)

Try Recovery Mode FIRST, if that don't work try DFU Mode.

restore 3gs 3.1.2 original rom
without jailbreak with redsn0w or blackra1n, i went to recover and tried to restore (the one with cable and apple pict) iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Custom_Restore_SiNfuL_iPhone_1.ipsw
Failed.
tried in DFU mode (with no pict or black screen), got error 1602.

Tried iH8sn0w - iREB V3.1.2 For Windows-English, but no 3gs and nothing happen when i pressed the picture of 3g (of course in dfu mode ^^)

tried redsn0w first, then go to DFU, restore custom, and still error 160

any advice man?

unofrtunatelly, they do not work for me.
i have a 3GS 16gb with 3.1.2 firmware, jailbroken and bought late December 2009.
I am on XPs.

The phone is not working at all.
I tried to follow all your leads but there is no remedy!

It either has error 1604 or 1601.

I think I will make a normal restore to the 3.1.3 and try to downgrade!

Any last comments before the kill will be much appreciated.

Pretty sure 3.1.2 3gs mc models ( new bootroms) are still guerilla fucked into the tetherboot jb, atleast as far as I've found. That covers most people who got 3gs for christmas and beyond. It blows but it beats not jailbreakin. Restore a non-modified 3.1.2 ipsw with iTunes with the shift click and don't forget to change your hosts file to redirect to sauriks server as apple quit signing 3.1.2s a few days ago.
