FWChanger--Is it safe?

I have this app installed called FWChanger, which its main purpose is to trick apps into thinking your iPhone/iPod is on a different FW so you can install apps that aren't meant for that FW. For example the Appstore game: Canabalt requires you to be on the 3.1 FW to be able to play the game but i'm on 3.0. So i go into FWChanger and build a "fake" FW to trick the app into thinking i'm on 3.1FW and thus allowing me to play the game. I haven't tried the app but that what it states it supposed to do.

I'll reedit this post to see if this app works like it says it does.

It cant just mess up your device. I've used it countless times and never had a problem.... How can It just mess up your device? You can change the firmware number back to whatever it was originally at the tap of a button!

I thried it too and I can change the FW back and forth (from 3.0 to 3.1.2).
But when I try to install any application that requires newer version it simply says I don't have the correct version (as before).
