Site and Repo running slow! |

Site and Repo running slow!
As you all have noticed things have been slow as fuck around here the past couple of days. This is also causing issues with the repo as well because the repo is on the same server. The reason? Well after only being online for only 4 months now we have once again outgrown the server that we are on. We now have over 15,000+ members and with that many people accessing not only the forum but the repo as well this is putting a huge strain on the server. In any case I am working to resolve the issue ASAP. Please DO NOT post up threads about the site being slow etc. All this is gonna do is aggravate me and stress me out even more than I already am. I know the site is slow because it's slow for me to. Until the issue is resolved I only have TWO options which are either I can leave the site up and you guys can deal with it being slow but at least you will still have access to all of our resources including the repo -OR- I can just shut the site down. So personally I know it sucks but I think it's better to at least leave the site running rather than go without. Also if you are getting errors from Cydia about the repo, size mismatch, url not found, etc. this is due to the huge load on the server right now. Like I said I am working on this and hopefully all this will be resolved within the next 24-48 hours.

Yes the repo is down right now. I took it down because there is a retarded amount of traffic coming from the repo. So I am gonna leave it down a little longer to help speed things up on the forum.
I know some of you guys really rely on the repo for restoring your phones etc, so I don't wanna leave you guys completely without anything.
So if you guys REALLY REALLY REALLY need to access the repo then you can add this source to your Cydia sources.

I am only posting this info HERE ON THE FORUM so that way only people reading this thread will have this info. Like I said this is only TEMPORARY until things get moved over somewhere else so that way the forum will still run quicker but members can still have access to the repo as well.

how bout leave the repo up on your servers,
drop the site to send it to a bigger new server
and then leave the repo on your own server?

i dont no what you did but the site is running great now much faster and no errors when loading i think the people read your post and pissed off lol great work

Suggestion:
Since (-•SiNfulSS•-) has been here for ALL of us, how about returning the favor. Just some info from my personal stash. I was having issues running a Web server, media server and torrent server from my house. They were all running on a quad core machine and it was just killing the machine. I had this little simplified NAS box (a PogoPlug). I loaded software from open pogo and turned it into a WEB and torrent server. This divided the load up on my network and everything is running a lot faster. Since the repo is basically just like a file server, this or a device ike it may help you balance out your load.

Sinful is a shining example of how this shit should be done. JK man. Anyone complaining for real can suck on some nuts. "oh no the site is slow cuz they made it kick too much ass and its free and public" wah wah wah.
IMO the slowness is like an achievement you accomplished lol. Most people's servers are excessive...yet your community has been growing faster than anything since myspace or facebook lol. Congrats man and take your time with everything.

Right on guys I appreciate the positive feedback. Like I said I am trying to get everything handled ASAP but I just honestly never expected the site to expand this rapidly. Shit I only started this place 4 months ago so I assumed that I still had several more months of planning and preparation before all this traffic would start coming thru lol.
In any case Thanks again to everyone for all your positive feedback and support, it makes for great motivation to keep things going

Yeah I thought about doing this but the problem is that by doing that I will end up having to get a whole different domain just for the repo otherwise I will have to create all kinds of forwarding and shit just won't be as streamlined. So for now I think I will just keep that idea on the back burner.

you can get a free domain from here, some vietnamese site use this uni.cc domian for their repo
