iOS 4.1 has been released (DO NOT UPDATE-Wait 4 JB)

Comex said the JB isn't going to come from him, so this guy might have boot room JB not userland, like Geohotz was. I'm wondering though, what about those dudes who don't have AT&T and buy a iPhone 4 on 4.0.2 or 4.1. If we JB what's going to happen with the unlock, because wouldn't the baseband still be brand new, thus making the JB a 50 / 50 win.

No, you don't need to have iTunes 10 to update your iPhone to 4.1... and your jailbroken 3G should be fine with iTunes 10 (iTunes 10 Safe For Jailbreakers and Unlockers)

Some ppl assume there's no harm in updating and waiting for the 4.1 jb...

But I will wait a few days to make sure this update doesn't update your bootrom and/or baseband (which if it does it's irreversible if u read the main post)

Some cool new features in 4.1 and I too am stuck with a factory iP4 with 4.0.2 non-jailbroken (but I will wait for the Dev-Team's official okay to upgrade and/or a possible Custom 4.1 fw update that will allow me to keep my bootrom/baseband intact)

NOTE: If your currently jailbroken then the DO NOT UPGRADE applies to you. If your stuck on 4.0.2 and dont have any shsh's on file, besides 4.0.2. Then you might as well upgrade to 4.1 (without baseband update/if needed) and wait for a JB from that firmware.

for those of us with 4.0.2 and no jailbreak, why can't we just upgrade normally?
wouldn't the new jailbreak be for 4.1 anyway, whatever baseband that may have. i'm confused!

get the latest version of tinyumbrella which is 4.1.2. according to him, if you use it to update to ios 4.1 IT DOES NOT UPDATE YOUR BASEBAND. this applies ONLY to iPhone 4's.

haha im in nz and on the apple nz site (Apple) it says 4.1 coming soon

but if i change it to uk (Apple (United Kingdom)) i can download 4.1 no worries

i find it amusing how apple makes people in different countries wait for the same thing like its software its downloadable - its not like they have to ship me a flash drive with the ipsw on it

but then i could just find online too

here in nz we still awaiting the latest ipod range retailers are taking pre-orders for them all but apparently apple have delayed the shipment due to 'unknown causes' according to my local retailer and wont arrive till about 20 september

Will it still have multitasking for 3G which you can turn on an off with zToggle so in other words will it have the featchers inbedded

No it can't be jb...it came with 4.0.2 preinstalled...just using my jb 3gs on 3.1.3 til 4.1 gets the goahead...right now using my jb 3gs with all my cydia apps still out-weigh the iPhone 4 as far as I'm concerned..
