as about upgrade, my 3Gs old boot rom, 5.12.1, 4.0.1 jailbreakme has 1604 for custom FW 4.1. Can I just restore straight from Itunes to 4.1? what could be wrong with it?
why needs Custom FW?
Can someone pls explain this?

i've used limera1n to jailbreak my iphone4 and have noticed a number of 'glitches in the matrix'. Apps like Skype fail to switch me to online, ipod freezes, plugin radio transmitter (which worked on my jailbroken 3g) doesn't work, call dropping, failure to get anything on 'settings' excepta blank screen, problem with accessing the network.
Might be my phone, but has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I just tried jb on 3GS on iOS 4.1, procedure went ok, after DFU instead of limera1n icon the screen just bleached white, and then phone rebooted, and no limera1n icon anywhere
I downloaded the file from limera1n.com. I retried the procedure several times but always same result. What could be the problem. Do i have to upgrade iTunes to a new version for the jb to work or what?

i did it the same way...but limera1n icon is white and also i m not able to download cydia from it.....they give error on downloading cydia...

hello, I just bought an ipod touch 4.
I followed the steps through using limerain, however, right towards the end, when I unpack cydia and reboot it is when I get problems.
Basically, I download cydia and unpack it, and when I reboot it again, the ipod touch just gets stuck and all I see is a black screen with an apple logo. nothing happens as ive waited for 10mins.
sorry if this problem has been answered as im new.
help asap please.

p.s. i have read I cant downgrade because i just bought it and it has never been updated.

jailbreak with the latest limera1n please it works perfecly on an iphone 4 with version 4.1 no problems whatsoever im staying on this jailbreak until they fix those 4.2 bugs

I just did this on my 3GS with new bootrom and worked fine. Cydia installed and everything working fine.
