blacksn0w Released! Unlock 05.11.07 / 3.1.2 FW
GeoHot has released his free tool for Windows and OS X, blacksn0w - which unlocks the latest baseband (05.11.07).
blackra1n has also received an update to RC3, which will jailbreak your iPhone (name your model!) from Windows or the Mac.

So all u have to do is download the RC3? Where's the blacksn0w? Is it already unlocked once use the RC3?

Yes sir it's real ! Just jailbroke & unlocked my 3G (3.1.2 baseband 05.11.07) and tested on Tmobile SIM card ...worked like a charm

k so i have a jailbroken 3gs on 3.1.2 and with the ATT (official carrier) i want to unlock with blacksn0w. will i have any problems? i want the unlock cause i go to mexico often and cant use my phone over there and would like to be able to pop a prepaid sim card from over there when i travel.

Yes it works 100%
If your jailbroken using pwnagetool or something else, just go into Cydia and type in as a new source
blackra1n.com
and download sn0w 
(Btw, works 100% for me  I'm now on T-Mobile with 3G Yay!)

um if i accidently update my iphone to offical 3.1 firmware via itune. and now i have the latest baseband 5.11.07 and latest bootloader. So it would work if i update to 3.2 via itune and use blackra1n? and i will able to fix the no service problem and i can use tmobile carrier right?

I do the whole blackrain RC3 jailbreak and it goes through like normal. But when i go to my iphone there is no blackrain icon! Has anyone had this problem. I can't use blacksnow cause for some reason its not loading the blackrain app. Any help or thoughts.
Couldn't get the RC3 to work on my phone. But since i already had used RC2 i was jailbroken already. So i added the blackra1n repo in cydia and downloaded snow, and all is well now.

all you have to do is get custom firmware 3.1.2 for iphone 2g and it should have boot nueter in it
