VirtualOS 3.1:
Tap and boot Windows 95/Windows 3.1 without any setup!

This is basically iDOS but modified to auto-execute Windows 95/Windows 3.1 on launch!
Modified by me and all credits go to creator(s) of iDOS. Due to copyright infringements I will remove this as soon as possible when warned.


How to run
1. Launch VOS3 on your home screen
2. Tap on the "C:" button
3. You'll see a black screen, just wait for a couple of seconds and then you'll see the Windows 95 starting up screen!

Just tested this and it works.

Got absolutely no use at all for windows 3.1 or 95, would be nice to get a more up2date os running on the device

Unless iDOS is updated with DoS 7.0 or higher you wont see any windows 95... But yes, it can be done

iDOS was removed for the AppStore..

because you can mount the iPhone file system !!!

so unless it finds a new home in cydia.. there will be no update ;(

If there's an update to the DoS version you'll soon be seeing WIN95 and Win98. Right now some of the people are trying to get network drivers for the emulator..

Download the IPA double click or drag to iTunes, then sync. Make sure you have Appsync or Installd patched. Or alternatively copy this to your Installous "Downloads" folder and Install through your device with Installous (directory is "/User/Documents/Installous/Downloads")

Yes but you must have purchased iDOS as it's now not available on the AppStore and the currently available one now is cracked-so you need Appsync before you can use it. Ironic isnt it?

yeah, it is ironic. since i have win 95 / win 98 setup disks, i should be able to upgrade my win 3.1. my only concern is disk usage. has anyone noticed a limitation in the space.

i tried updating the win 95 in my windoze (********) but it doesn't allow. so the iDos should allow unlimited space (free space on iPhone), correct.

edit - have all m$ stuff from dos / win 1.0 (up to win 7 enterprise) / server

No, Apple has limited each app to use 2gb of mounted iPhone space.. Good luck with squashing them in..

you sure about that? i use offline maps program, and have downloaded 4 maps of chinese cities well over 2gb in size (iPhone 4). my iTopo maps for alaska is almost 6gb, and iNav is around 5gb or so (iPhone 3gs, soon to migrate to iPhone 4). or is that because its downloaded data. but its still in the directory.

I think i forgot to say that: this only works on ARM V7 or any device that has Samsung's Cortex A8 Cpu or later (specifically iPod touch 3g/4g, iPhone 3gs/4 are supported only)

Good news!

If ARM v4 instruction sets are the same as ARM v7 we can run Win CE 6.0. It already works on ARM v6 all we néed is forward compatability for ARM v7 to run Win 6.0!

Already in Cydia. Read --> How to Download and Install DOSPad

And for those reluctant to add a new repo to Cydia (we all know what happen when adding a defective repo -- not that this is the case here, but anyway...) here is version 1.92 of DOSPad - basically iDOS for Cydia.
