I really appreciate that matey! I'm just soo glad you could help.

I just assumed fuzzybamd was updated to handle the iPad baseband... Guess not!

Thanks again matey!

thanks for the cert, I still have another problem.

fuzzyband launches and I get the "query modem" window but after a few second fuzzy band just closes.

I currently have ultrasn0w installed. Could that be the culprit?... would I need to uninstall Ultrasn0w first before running fuzzyband?

UPDATE:

I downgraded the ios back down to 3.1.3 and then ran fuzzyband with the new cert... it worked!

guess ios 4.2.1 was just tooo slow.

is it possible to select which baseband we want to downgrade to using the correct cert? I want to baseband to be 05.12.01

You can but you'll have to manually flash the baseband. The rule for BL5.08 is no need cert to upgrade but need cert to downgrade. Therefore the easy way is to get Fuzzyband 4.0, put in appropriate cert to get back to 04.26.08 then manually flash the baseband up to what you need.

Why do I get the feeling that you just don't have enough problem already?

Downgrade to 4.1 using custom firmware then you can use ultrasnow to unlock.

if anyone is interested in downgrading their baseband back to 04.26.08 then download this file:

Fuzzyband40.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

copy and paste the files in the archive to the current version of fuzzyband using ifunbox or alternative

it worked for me perfectly

quick question: why would you downgrade to 04.26.08?

I was able to bring it back to live, all youi have to do after jb with redsn0w_win_0.96b5 and unlocking with snow666......., do not press reboot device, shut it down yourself regular way, then you have to use redsn0w_win_0.96b5 to boot it via "Just boot tethered right now" .
KEEP IN MIND - this is the only way to start the phone after jb and unlock

P.S. use "Just boot tethered right now" all the time after jb, and for unlocking

Therefore I had to restore back to iOS 4.1 and only then I get signal. I can only assume that there is a Baseband version check in new iOS 4.2.1 .. hence IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO UPGRADE TO iOS 4.2/4.2.1 IF YOU RELY ON ULTRASNOW FOR UNLOCK!

My iPhone 3G is on 4.2.1 with baseband 5.13.04 and I get a perfect T-mobile signal. I have a friend on 4.2.1 with baseband 5.11.07 and it also works with T-mobile. Both use the the ultrasn0w unlock.
