Teathering on 3.2
I got my iphon 3gs about a month ago, came stock with 3.1 firmware. What do i need or what is the easiest way to get me teathered!

If your already Jailbroke, then just install MyWi, it has worked fine for me.

I have AT&T with MMS as part of my plan also. The 3.1.2 enable tethering package from Sinful will just replace the APN with the same settings that are already there, so nothing will change with the messaging. But, it will add the tethering toggle under network settings for you 
It's worked flawlessly for me and my workmate (who has a 3Gs with MMS on his plan).
Paulie also has some good advice, if you're edgy about trying the tethering package from here. MyWi works fine, too.

If your not jailbroke yet, I believe you can still install this mobileconfigs file at the link below to install the tethering features.
help.BenM.at
Then go to "Settings/General/Network/ and turn Internet Tethering to "On".

If you check your APN settings without the package, they will say Cingular even though you are on AT&T. AT&T is lazy and didn't change it when they bought out Cingular years ago.

It's fine. AT&T sold to Cingular than Cingular was bought by Att again. They never changed some of the text and settings. I think that in some countries they still go by Cingular!?.

If you are really from Oklahoma, then you and I are in the same region. (I'm in AR right now.) My settings before I installed the MMS/tether package said wap.cingular and the MMS still works with it after the install.

as long as you don't use tethering an absurd amount then you should be fine. If your normal usage is 3GB/month and all of the sudden it's 15GB then you are going to set off some flags at AT&T and you might get charged or they cancel your service due to breach of contract terms. I have been tethering for quite some time and never been charged but I only use it for when I really need it and don't have wifi.

 This. I personally know about 10 people using the Sinful tethering package and none have had any issues, but they don't abuse it either. If you install dtunes and start torrenting HD TV Shows by the season, then you're probably gonna be in trouble. If you use it to check email, banking, forums, etc., then you should be fine. AT&T doesn't have the resources to monitor stuff like this 24/7 so they look for abnormalities.
