Sure the UAprof is http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/W800iR101.xml
The UserAgent is SonyEricssonW800i/R1L <--- This is in the carrier.plist file so obviously you cannot change this without editing the carrier.plist file. But if your just manually trying to enter the settings in it's not gonna work. For some reason they have to be entered into the carrier.plist file. That's why I created the hack otherwise if it was just as easy as entering in some settings then I would have just posted that instead ![]() Are you using T-Mobile or AT&T?

Any chance of making your carrier settings file available so we don't have to jailbreak? I have a 3Gs and would rather not use the new jailbreak yet.

T-Mobile carrier.plist AT&T carrier.plist Be sure that you rename them to carrier.plist before you upload them to your phone.

Also are you following the latest guide that I posted in the OP? I just changed it the other night so make sure that your following the current guide exactly step by step and also removing any other mms & tethering hacks that you previously installed.

I tried using your carrier.plist in the carrier bundle. It enables tethering and the camera icon in mms but when trying to send a picture it fails like it always has on AT&T. I have the family text plan but it still recognizes my phone as iphone 3gs on the ATT website. Was there any other settings you changed in the carrier bundle besides the carrier.plist?

Yeah good luck getting AT&T to work. The settings are correct, the issue is on AT&T's end of things. Once they get shit handled on their end MMS will work just fine with these settings. Or unless you can call AT&T and get them to enable WAP PUSH on your account which I heard is not working out so well these days because AT&T has been sending out memos to employees to NOT enable MMS on customers phones. That's why I be like FUCK AT&T

From what I understand T-Mobile doesn't even use the UAProf they only use the UserAgent. So the UAProf doesn't even really matter when it comes to T-Mobile. I have not seen a UserAgent for the iPhone so that's why the SonyEricssonW800i/R1L is used as the UserAgent. So essentially yes you could use the http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf as your UAProf but it's not gonna matter cause T-Mobile doesn't use the UAProf anyways.

I have a 3G with 3.0 jailbroken. My issue is I can send MMS and they are received just fine.
But I can not receive them. I have had 4 people sent me over 10 pics and I have never received any of them. Got any ideas? I have not used your method yet as I have the camera icon, and have made sure my settings are correct. Wanted your thoughts on this before I make any changes. Thanks in advance. Oh and one other thing, anytime you guys change your Cellular Data Network settings, always be sure to REBOOT your phone afterward so that the settings take effect.

Checked all my settings again, they are correct. Now what. Thx in advance. Edit, Seems as tho I can now receive and send SMS again, but still have the same problem with MMS Also noticed that signal level drops when I try to send MMS or SMS. SO weird... edit, SMS is hit and miss, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Last edited by ichick; 07-06-2009 at 12:51 PM. |

So slow but working. So back to not being able to send MMS or receive...... what are your suggestions? Last edited by ichick; 07-06-2009 at 01:55 PM. |

question for sinfulss and others? has anyone or have you heard from anyone that has problems with incoming texts. sometimes when i get a new text message the message shows on the pop up but when I go to open the txt, , that message isnt there instead, the text string shows some random text i sent out hrs or days before. Also I have confirmed that some texts are not getting recvd, sms or plain text. Any reports of this?

If that doesn't help you might have a corrupt sms.db file, (that's the database file on your phone that holds all of your SMS messages. You need to FTP into your phone and browse to /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS and check the permissions on the sms.db file. It should be 644 and the GROUP and OWNER should be mobile 501 Then lastly if that doesn't work you are gonna have to delete the sms.db file that way your phone will create a new one. Or you could restore your phone in iTunes from a previous backup which would replace your sms.db file as well.
