ipad 4.2.1 white cydia icon

using redsnow 0.9.6b_5 to jailbreak ipad 4.2.1 ,but device not tethering and with white cydia icon.cannot start cydia.

please advise

restore your iPad and try again. That's all I can say. Rejailbreak and see if that works.

after initially running redsn0w to jailbreak, the device does *not* boot in tethered mode (says this right in redsn0w) so you have to run it again and select the 'boot tethered' option. after which the cydia icon should show as it's correct icon and open properly.
