How to use the SiNfuL iPhone Forum!

This thread will give you tons of information on how to do certain things on the forum as well as information on all the other cool features of the forum that you may or may not already know about.

If you have any questions, comments, or other ideas that you think should be added to this guide then please feel free to post back and let me know. Thanks!

~General Tips~

• If you are really new to forums then you can check out the link at the top of the forum. It has TONS of basic information on forum usage.
• Please host all your signature images, attachments, or anything else you want to post on SiNfuL iPhone on a 3rd party hosting site such as ImageShack or your own personal webspace. See the File Host Suggestions List thread for more info.
• Use the button
  We have a system here at SiNfuL iPhone. Most other forums rank users by their POST COUNT. However just because someone makes a post doesn't actually mean it's useful or not. If you find someones thread/post useful, please don't litter up the forum by posting thanks. Just simply CLICK the button! This will increase the THANKS count for that member which they will appreciate much more than you just posting the words THANKS in a thread.
• Get to know and use the buttons at the top of the forum. Most of them are pretty self explanatory however here is an explanation for some you might not understand.
  - Clicking this button when browsing the forum using your iPhone or other mobile device will take you to a mobile device enhanced version of the forum for easier viewing.
  - If you have over 10 posts then you can view/use the Chatbox to chat with your fellow members.
  - Takes you to the SiNfuL iPhone Repo page which shows you how to add the repo to your device.
  - Takes you to the RULES page where you can review the site rules and get lots of good info about all the features of the site.
  - This button takes you into the User Control Panel where you can edit/change many options/settings that are specific to your account.
  - This button is almost as useful as the SEARCH button as it will allow you to do several things which are pretty self explanatory however I will explain some below...
  • New Threads - Lists all the New Threads for an indefinite amount of time (up to 500 results)
  • Today's Threads - Lists only the New Threads from the current day
  • Unanswered Threads - Lists all the Unanswered Threads for an indefinite period of time (up to 500 results)
  • New Posts - Lists all the New Posts for an indefinite amount of time (up to 500 results)
  • Today's Posts - Lists only the New Posts from the current day
  • Find All Your Thanked Posts - Shows a list of all your posts that someone has said THANKS to you in.
  • Find All Posts You Have Thanked - Shows a list of all the posts that you have said THANKS to.
  • Find All Thanked Posts - Shows a list of all the Thanked Posts on the forum.
  • View All Threads Started By You - Shows a list of all the threads that you have started.
  • View All Your Posts - Shows a list of all the posts you have made.

~How to add a YouTube Video to your Thread/Post~

You can add YouTube videos directly to your thread/post by doing the following...

• Goto YouTube and load the video you want to post.
• Underneath the video you will see a button that says SHARE. Click on it and copy the link.

• Now grab the video ID from the link

• Then in your thread/post click on the button in the message toolbar.
• Then just paste your Video ID in the middle just as shown below and that's it!

~How to Change Your Signature~

Your signature is what will appear below every post you make. You can add a cool image or perhaps a favorite quote you might have

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Signature link on the left side
• You can now add text/images into the signature box
• After you are finished click the Save Signature button at the bottom

~How to Change Your Avatar~

Your avatar is an image that will appear on the left side of every post you make.

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Avatar link on the left side
• You can either select one of the pre-defined avatars or upload your own custom avatar
• After you are finished click the Save Changes button at the bottom

~How to Change Your User Title~

Your user title is the text that appears on every post you make and is directly below your user name.

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Your Details link on the left side
• Now scroll down till you see Custom User Title
• After you're finished changing your title, click the Save Changes button at the bottom

~How to Change Your Post Color~

This was set by you when you registered however you can change it to a different color if you'd like.

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Your Details link on the left side
• Now scroll down till you see Post Color
• After you've selected a new color, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page

~How to Change Your Options~

There are many options/features of the forum that you can enable/disable.

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Options link on the left side
• Go thru everything and check/uncheck options to enable/disable them
• After you are finished click the Save Changes button at the bottom

~How to Change Your Details~

Your details are listed on the left side of every post you make. They include important information such as "Device", "Firmware", "iTunes Version", "Carrier", "OS" etc. When you create a "Help Me" post, this information helps other members quickly identify information about your hardware so that they can better help you troubleshoot your situation. Always try to keep this information as up to date as possible.

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Your Details link on the left side
• In the top category Registration Required Information - All fields are required. you will find all the details that you can change
• After you're finished making changes, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page

~How to Hide Avatars/Signatures/Images etc.~

If you are viewing SiNfuL iPhone from work or public places and want to hide avatars/signatures/and images from showing to help avoid having adult material appear then...

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Click on the Edit Options link on the left side
• Now scroll down till you get to the category labeled Thread Display Options
• In that category at the top in the section Visible Post Elements you will see three options
  - Show Signatures
  - Show Avatars
  - Show Images
• Uncheck the one's that you want to DISABLE/HIDE from showing then click the Save Changes button at the bottom

~How to View Your Threads/Posts~

You can view all your threads and posts that you have made by doing the following...

• Click on the button at the top of the forum
• Now in the drop down box toward the bottom you will see several options...
  • New Threads - Lists all the New Threads for an indefinite amount of time (up to 500 results)
  • Today's Threads - Lists only the New Threads from the current day
  • Unanswered Threads - Lists all the Unanswered Threads for an indefinite period of time (up to 500 results)
  • New Posts - Lists all the New Posts for an indefinite amount of time (up to 500 results)
  • Today's Posts - Lists only the New Posts from the current day
  • Find All Your Thanked Posts - Shows a list of all your posts that someone has said THANKS to you in.
  • Find All Posts You Have Thanked - Shows a list of all the posts that you have said THANKS to.
  • Find All Thanked Posts - Shows a list of all the Thanked Posts on the forum.
  • View All Threads Started By You - Shows a list of all the threads that you have started.

I clicked the THANKS button and see my address in there, 61st one to do so. Anyway, it all seems pretty self explanatory so far, but thats only because i read the stuff. Thanks for all the help and I hope I can find the answer I am looking for and learn more about dealing with this jailbroken iPhone 4. The phone is a lot of fun and I like it way better than the Android.
