2G needs to be restored
Currently using a 2G, it is 3.1.2 and firmware is 04.05.04_G
I bought it used on e-bay, it had boot neuter on it. I have restored my last 2G with the custome ipsw file from this site with no problems.
Its been a year since I have done this and don't want to mess it up, basically I use the same custome ipsw file that I used before? Put in DFU mode, hook to itunes on laptop that has a internet connection and restore with the custom ipsw file?
Thanks for any input!
I had a 3GS but it got stolen and am trying to get by with the older 2G for now.

I also get a Firmware is not compatible message when I click on shift, Restore, which use to work last year with my 2g and 3Gs

I got the custom ipsw file to load, bt cydia keeps crashing, everytime I run it.

I think my main problem was the cable that hooks up phone to computer, now when I run cydia it exits. I will keep playing around and welcome comments, and when I get it working will post my procedure that gets it working.

iPhone 2G? Restore to 3.1.3 and jailbreak with spirit. No need to mess with the custom ipsw or anything dude

Still have problem, this is the custom file I used "iPhone1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Custom_Restore_SiNfuL_iPhone_6"
My phone works normal, has the cydia icon but everytime I go to cydia, it starts to load then exits out automatcally.
Any help would be appreciated!

Basically you are saying use itunes to upgrade to 3.1.3, then use spirit?

dude just restore using official 3.1.2/3.1.3 your preference then unlock if need. after that update your cydia with this one found here http://apt.saurik.com/debs/cydia_1.0...honeos-arm.deb directions on installation here Download CYDIA (latest - 1.0.3366.7) as a .Deb here! (and anything else from saurik's repo) - SiNfuL iPhone after that is complete open up cydia update anything and voila.
