How to Manually select network on iPhone 3GS ?

Hello,

I have recently upgraded my firmware from 3.1.3 to 4.1 and noticed that I am frequently getting 'No service' message. I called up my carrier and spoke about this issue for which he has asked me to switch the network setting from Automatic to Manual mode. I asked for the details on how to do the same on iPhone for which they could not answer. They have asked me to check the settings on my phone and configure it.

I understand that I need a option where the carrier network list is available and I need to manually select the carrier. I tried looking at the settings option on my iPhone 3GS, but could not find the same.

Can you'll please help me with finding this option / solution ?

For phone calls, turn off 3G and use the E network, this solution works excellent.

Whan you go to settings just under the wifi you will find a button named Carriers. Click on that & you should see a list of your available carriers to pick from or you can leave it on auto

Hope u preserved ur old baseband so u could keep it unlocked. If u didn't then ur screwed
