ive been reading a bit on this, and i have an app on my phone that does it, but how to i know it really has done it or how do i save them in cydia? i have 4.2 tethered jb iphone 4
There is TinyUmbrella which downloads and stores your shsh blobs from Cydia an also there is a package from bigboss I think that saves you current shsh blob and then you can shsh into your device and back them up that way or you can just use tinyumbrella and go to the directory it saves them in and copy them to another location
I run a cellular repair store and concentrate on iPhones. When iPhones come into my store, the first thing I do if possible is connect to my computer and open Tinyumbrella and save SHSH. It's always nice if the customer comes back with a problem that I already have their SHSH's save.
