Installing beta version app

Ok, I have the opportunity to test the beta version of an app. It's used by my work for tracking ship/vessel movements via AIS.

The creator of the app emailed me and sent me the file XXXX.ipa.html and said to download it to the desktop and then open it with itunes and it should install via itunes. WELL that don't work! I also downloaded the .zip file but still am not sure on how to install it on my phone.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Open iTunes and drag the XXXX.ipa into the App section..

I dont know if you need to be JB to sync the new app or not.

I am JB but don't think that matters because this app is legit.

That's the problem, there is no .ipa file. The only one that comes close is the file that's xxx.ipa.html I can't drop the html off of it. I tried dragging it into itunes as the programmer suggested but nothing.

Well, I finally figured it out. I clicked on the ipa.html file, which was a link to the zip file online. I then unzipped the file to the desktop and moved that folder into itunes. I didn't realize that you could move a folder into itunes but apparently you can.
