Being able to rent a game and burn it to the hdd to play is my major influence for jailbreaking my ps3. You can play emulators. Unlock the possibilities. Hack the ps3, hack the goddamn world!!!! I btw. The dns trick stopped working so if u were to jailbreak your ps3 now u won't have online play till a 3.56 Cfw is released

For some it was simply the chance to run custom and hombrew software/firmware. The option in install another OS used to be on the ps3 until recently so for some it's just about getting back what sony took off them.

I have 2 PS3's, one jailbroken and one is just normal. Use the JB one for some pawnage of games and the other one to play online.

Been that way since the JB first came out.

See my post about infectus. Aside from that everything is going to be dongles and usb jailbreaks like before. Geohot has quit the scene so I doubt there will be another software jailbreak for anything higher than 3.5
