Tmobile Iphone?

Hey. Im a new iPhone user. I was wondering how the whole Tmobile iphone thing worked. Im on a prepaid acount right now using Att. I am looking to switch to Tmobile because they have a cheaper prepaid plan. I was hoping to just general info about the situation. Also if i make the switch is there somthing i can do to get free internet, like on their network, not just wifi. Thanks for the help!

You won't be able to get "free data". We all wish But since you are using an iPhone 2G, your unlock is easy and permanent. I'm assuming you are jailbroken? Install the package "Bootneuter" from Cydia, and neuter and unlock your phone! That's it for good.

I was on tmobile a couple of months ago.. i had the unlimited talk and txt plan with 100mb of data for $50 a month. Tmobile is a good service provider if u live in the city. if u go out of town alot and be in rual areas, the service is not all that great. The main thing i hated about Tmobile service is the lossing of network service at times. Sometimes i had to put my phone airplane mode to qucikly get the service back. but that wasnt so bad, i had sbsetting and airplane toggle finally came in handy. Beside the no service at times, i would recommend using tmobile to anyone. Now im on Att prepaid plan as well. i hate their plans but their service is very reliable. dont get me wrong, tmobile service is good too, this is just one of the issues i had wit my iphone. Just becuz it happen to me does not mean it will happen to you. Think about the switch and try it out, if u dont like it, u can always switch back to att.

T-mobile has customer service reps especially trained to field iPhone questions. They won't help you unlock it but they certainly will discuss your plan options and what to expect from their service while using your device. I am quite happy with them. I have a grandfathered unlimited voice/data/text plan that's been too sweet to give up for a new iPhone on an authorized network.

I am on the 25 cent a minute rate on ATT, with a 100o text package. And on Tmobile i would be switching to the $15 a month unlimited text with 10 cent a minute calls.

---------- EDIT ----------

Oh and what does Bootneuter do?

Bootneuter unlocks your baseband/bootloader so that you can use any SIM card you want. It's a permanent unlock that survives restores. Your service quality really depends on where you live. I use AT&T, and I have really strong service. I practically never lose signal and I haven't dropped a call in a long time...
