go into your itunes library and find your songs (windows find your files in Windows Explorer, Mac find in your Music folder in the Finder or right click and click show in finder). open these files with
Audacity (do a google search, when i get home i'll post the home page but its sensored at my school right now >_<)
Then you can choose File > export > AIFF
find the file in your Windows Explorer or in the Finder and simply change the extension from AIFF to CAF.
you should be gtg.
its a little work but simple enough and completely FREE!

Custom caf sounds
and this site really ROCKS, learning new stuff everday.. A friend ask me if i can change his silde to unlock sound that would say his own voice to her girlfriends iphone when shes opening it.. I looked around how to convert any m4a to caf, cause the recorder for iphone will output a m4a file whenever you record something. And yes i found one after alot of hours looking for the program the name of the program is "AUDIO MUSIC BATCH CONVERTER" it will convert any audio to whatever you want like CAF files.. lol now his girlfriend is mad at me coz everytime she open the open to unlock his EX bf voice calling her name like a GHOST hahahah.. well i wanted to know if you guys knows a converter that is FREE coz right im on 15 days TRIALS and its $29.95 if you buy it.
thats how i did it before.. my lock sound was a car alarm lock. and unlock was the double sound car alarm unlock when u press your keychain
