Export Music and Movies on iPhone/iPod
Export Apple iTunes managed audio and video in iPhone, iPad or iPods to PC as a backup copy or burn to CD. Scan and populate music and movie files in iPhone and iPod even when iTunes is refused to connect.

It should be on your computer. How did you get it to the ipod in the first place?
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
The ipod touch is not a storage device. It is designed to mirror the elected content from your computer.
What's more, you can refer this article about how to transfer or copy music from iPod to computer, which included an easy guide to work out that.
Cheers.

How to transfer music from iPod itouch to computer?

First, pls make sure you use the latest iTunes version for your iPod Touch. Just open iTunes and connect your iPod to the compute. Once iTunes recognize your iPod Touch you may click “Music” in the navigation bar and select the music you want to transfer. Click the songs you ‘ve chosen and drag them onto the iPod menu in the navigation bar. Wait for a few minutes and you can see them on your ipod. Done!
If you don’t wanna use itunes or wanna find another easy way, then just google iPod Transfer to seek some useful tools
