iPad 3 With OLED Display Could Launch This Year?
Apple COO Tim Cook reportedly visited Samsung headquarters in South Korea recently to discuss the use of its OLED technology for the iPad 3.
"Apple wants to tap into Samsung's AMOLED technology for an upgraded version of the iPad2, considered as many as the iPad3 that is likely to be launched toward the end of this year," a source told The Korea Herald on Wednesday (May 25) on condition of anonymity.
Both John Gruber and TechCrunch have suggested that Apple might be planning the release another iPad in 2011.

NO! OLED is a step backward.. i expect to see super retina in ipad 3 and hat will come middle of 2012

You jump way ahead. They can do super retina of course but they want to climb the lader step by step and keep releasing a new model every 5-6 months.
Congrats to all who bought iPad2, in a few months it will be obsolete. And this is the trend nowadays unfortunately.

Remember last week when they bought some 100,000 curved glass cutting machines. Maybe this OLED display will go with the iPad's potentially curved glass. And I highly doubt the iPad will come out this year. Apple will delay it

Apple like modular hardware revisions as they are the most profitable, so would be very surprised indeed if they killed that particular cashcow off rather than simply produce the "latest" ipad in Q1 2012.
